Northwest Advanced Bio-Fuels Plans $2.4B SAF Biorefinery in Washington State

US developer Northwest Advanced Bio-Fuels announces planned construction start in 2026 for a sustainable aviation fuel biorefinery at the Port of Longview. The project would represent a $2.4 billion investment.

Northwest Advanced Bio-Fuels (NWABF) is preparing to break ground on a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production facility on more than 200 acres at the Port of Longview in Washington State. According to the company, this project would constitute one of the largest US biorefineries using woody biomass. The company indicates construction is expected to begin during 2026.
