Gabon Inaugurates First Phase of Its 8.5 MW Mayumba Gas-Fired Power Plant

The Gabonese government has received the first phase of the Mayumba thermal power plant, with a capacity of 8.5 MW. This project, developed in partnership with Perenco Gabon, aims to strengthen electricity supply in the south of the country.

The Gabonese government officially received the first phase of the Mayumba gas-fired thermal power plant during a ceremony held on January 23. Located in Nyanga province, this infrastructure has an installed capacity of 8.5 MW, according to information reported by local media. Construction work had been launched in July 2024.
