SunLib Raises €25M from Épopée Gestion to Develop Solar Subscription in France

SunLib, a French company specializing in solar self-consumption through subscription, announces a €25M fundraising round from Épopée Gestion via its Infrastructure and Climate funds. This financing should enable the company to accelerate its deployment in the French market. The company states it aims to equip 100,000 customers by 2030. A Business Model Based on Long-Term Subscription The model proposed by SunLib relies on a monthly subscription rather than purchasing photovoltaic installations. According to the company, this formula eliminates two main obstacles: initial cost and access complexity. The subscription includes feasibility studies and equipment performance guarantees throughout the contract duration. SunLib indicates this model requires no down payment or credit for individuals, and avoids debt for businesses and local authorities. The company relies on a network of more than 300 partner installers certified RGE (Reconnu Garant de l'Environnement) and approved. This partnership approach constitutes, according to SunLib, a differentiating element in the market. The funds raised from Épopée Gestion will finance the equipment of new subscribers starting in 2026. A French Market Still Underdeveloped The French residential solar self-consumption market shows an equipment rate of 2.5% of households, compared to 15% in Germany. An Ifop study cited by the company indicates that 86% of French people support solar development. SunLib positions itself in this segment by offering an alternative to traditional purchase. The company, which owns the installations deployed at its subscribers' premises, experiences investment needs growth proportional to its customer base expansion. Arnaud Langlois, president and co-founder of SunLib, states that the company's growth demonstrates the success of a model not dependent on state subsidies. Épopée Gestion, for its part, emphasizes the alignment of SunLib's approach with a 1.6°C climate trajectory. Both companies, both mission-driven enterprises, announce they are working on new services for individuals, businesses and local authorities.
