Enery Secures Over €250 Million to Develop 300 MW of Solar in Central Europe

Enery, an independent power producer (IPP) based in Vienna, announces securing portfolio project financing exceeding €250 million. Československá obchodní banka, a. s. (ČSOB) acts as the sole lender in this transaction. United Bulgarian Bank AD and Československá obchodná banka, a.s. Slovakia participate as subparticipants. A 22-Year Financing Structure The transaction relies on a portfolio project finance structure with a single borrower and a single lender, according to data disclosed by the company. Several operating companies (OpCo) act as guarantors for the arrangement. The financing tenor reaches 22 years, which would demonstrate a long-term commitment to the region. The proceeds would fund the construction of a portfolio comprising 300 MW of solar photovoltaic capacity and 100 MW / 220 MWh of co-located battery energy storage systems (BESS). These installations would be spread across four markets: Czechia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Slovenia. Combining Solar and Storage According to Enery, co-locating storage with solar generation would increase grid flexibility and improve energy reliability. The company indicates this approach aims to maximize value delivered to local power systems and customers. Richard König, CEO, and Lukas Nemec, COO, present this financing as validation of the group's strategy and execution capabilities. Teodor Filip, VP Financing at Enery, describes this transaction as a major milestone for the company. According to him, this financing would strengthen the group's ability to scale renewable generation and storage solutions in Central and Eastern Europe. The company states these projects would contribute to the region's long-term decarbonization goals. Four Central European Markets Targeted The financed portfolio covers four Central and Eastern European jurisdictions. Czechia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Slovenia will host the solar installations and storage systems. This geographic distribution would allow Enery to diversify its exposure to different electricity markets in the region. The Austrian group positions itself in the renewable energy segment in countries where needs for new generation capacity remain significant.
