ENGIE Signs 10-Year Contract with PepsiCo for 60 GWh of Biomethane in the United Kingdom

The French group will build a biomethane plant in northern England to supply the American manufacturer's supply chain. The investment would reach $88 million (£70 million).

ENGIE announced the signing of a 10-year Biomethane Purchase Agreement (BPA) with PepsiCo UK. According to the French company, this is the first contract of this type in the food and beverage sector in the United Kingdom and for PepsiCo in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region. The group plans to build a new anaerobic digestion plant with an annual capacity of 60 GWh, equivalent to the gas consumption of approximately 5,000 households according to the data provided.
